Formula E: The First Formula E World Championship Calendar Revealed

Season 7, the 2020/21 season, of the all-electric racing series marks the first season that will count as an official FIA World Championship.

It also marks the first time that the original dates for all races lie in the same calendar year, with no Season 7 races scheduled to take place in 2020.

The new first round will be in Santiago, Chile on 16th January, replacing Saudi Arabia capital Diriyah as the season opener. The Saudi double header will now be rounds 3 and 4, on the weekend of 26th/27th February.

Mexico City has moved to the 13th February, the earliest the event has taken place in the season.

China’s Sanya race will return for the 2nd time after being cancelled early on in Season 6, hosting round 5 on 13th March, before a string of European races in Rome, Paris and Monaco. Monaco returns to the calendar as per usual on its alternating calendar with the Historic Grand Prix, however 2021 will mark the first time both Formula E and Historic GP will race in the same year.

Seoul will finally make its Formula E debut for round 9 unless a deal can be struck to host the Season 6 finale, with round 10 currently labeled as TBC. Missing off the calendar from Season 6 are both Jakarta and Marrakesh, and it is unlikely Hong Kong will return due to the continued political unrest in the city.

Berlin will become the only city to host a race in every season of Formula E, hosting round 11, before a final 3 races identical to what was planned for Season 6, with New York hosting round 12 before a double header in London will see out the season, which will see the first British FE race since 2016.
