FORMULA E: Nico Prost not Retain by Nissan for Season 5
Nico Prost, son of 4-time F1 World Champion Alan Prost, has been with the Renault e.DAMS squad since Season 1, starting on pole in the first ever race in Beijing, but losing the win after the infamous crash with Heidfeld on the last corner on the last lap.

He went on to win 3 races, Miami Season 1, and both Season 2 London races, becoming the first driver in Formula E history to win both races on a double header weekend, a feat only once since by Sam Bird in New York last year.

However in comparison, his teammate for all 4 seasons, Sebastien Buemi, has gone on to win 12 races and step on the podium 20 times, as well as winning the Season 2 title, and being in contention for Season 1 and 3, winning half of the races in Season 3.

Both his poor performances compared to his teammate, and the fact that father Alan Prost, who had been a major shareholder in the team, recently sold his share before the team gets taken over by Nissan, as Prost is a major figure at Renault.

With Prost now gone, there will be at least 1 seat available at newcomers Nissan for Season 5, and with Buemi racing for Toyota in WEC, it is possible that Nissan will not want him racing for a rival Japanese manufacturer, and could well drop the Season 2 champion as well.
