DTM: Revised 2020 Calendar Revealed, Return of Spa

Today (June 3rd), the DTM has announced the revised 2020 schedule, with the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps making a surprise return to the series, in possible the DTM's final season.

Spa's late addition sees the series' first visit to the Belgian F1 venue since 2005, and will host the 2nd round of the season on August 1st-2nd.

4 events that were on the original schedule do not feature on the revised calendar - the new races in Sweden and Russia, as well as the British and Italian rounds being cancelled.

The Norisring street circuit will see the 2020 DTM opener on July 10th-12th (subject to government approval), going against the trend of most major international championships as street circuit are so much harder to prepare for and hold as an event.

Lausitzring will host the first set of double header races, with Round 3 on August 14th-16th and Round 4 a week later, with the only round in The Netherlands following on September 4th-6th at Assen.

The Nurburgring will host the 2nd double header rounds, albeit on 2 different layouts. The first weekend on September 11th-13th will run on the Grand Prix layout, with the following weekend's races being run on the Sprint layout.

Circuit Zolder is the only non-German venue to host a double header, following Nurburgring to host the only races in October. The season will have its traditional finale at Hockenheim on November 6th-8th.
